What is HardwareBlocks?
HardwareBlocks combines four assembled sensor kits with a private web app, a documented REST API and an MCP server. Use it to prototype an idea that needs camera images, movement, distance, or temperature and humidity. Start with simulated data, then connect a provisioned box over Wi-Fi.
From an idea to a physical input
Choose Camera, Motion, Distance or Climate. Each kit has one sensor module, a controller, a 400 mAh rechargeable battery, an enclosure and a USB-C cable. Each costs 99 EUR including VAT; EU shipping and handling is 30 EUR once per order. Expected delivery is two weeks. Payment is requested when the order is ready for dispatch.
Where AI fits
A coding assistant can read the sensor contract and help build a dashboard or application. It can publish a supported web-app layout through MCP when privately configured with your workspace key. AI inference, alerts and custom business logic run in a backend you build; they are not included hosted services.
What you can try today
Create a workspace in the web app, add a simulated device, send an example event and build a starter layout. You can test the software flow before ordering a physical device. Simulation is visibly labelled and never presented as a real measurement.
Built on established hardware
HardwareBlocks uses Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3 boards based on Espressif silicon. It is an assembled prototyping product and software layer, not a chip manufacturer. It is useful when you want to work on the application without starting with a loose board and wiring.
Developer beta, with clear boundaries
The current product uses Wi-Fi and HTTPS. Native mobile apps, Bluetooth setup, GPS, cellular connectivity and arbitrary hosted code are not released. Product images are concept renders. Physical assembly, enclosure fit, firmware and battery operation must pass testing before dispatch.
